Dr Jane Njoki Mburu

Lecturer

Biography

Dr Jane Njoki Mburu is a Lecturer/ Researcher in the field of Analytical Chemistry and Environmental Technology. She has expertise in wastewater treatment technologies based on sustainable water recirculating systems, solid waste management technologies, and the operational systems of advanced analytical instrumentation that includes the MP-AES, AAS, UV-VIS, FTIR (ATR), GC-FID/ECD, GC-MS and HPLC-MS among others. She gained this experience after 12 years of working on various Multidisciplinary Research projects at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), Karlsruhe University, Germany, and Kenyatta University (KU). She has published several scientific papers in wastewater treatment through Membrane Bioreactor Technology, Pyrolysis of post-consumer polyethene waste in addition to other publications. Her research work based on wastewater and solid waste management creates new pathways for improving the existing knowledge of conventional methods used in many East African countries. Her motivation is to promote sound approaches toward the management of solid waste, and water and sanitation supply initiatives through research, technical training sessions, and capacity-building activities to communities. She is a holder of a Ph.D. Degree in Environmental Technology from JKUAT, Msc. Degree in Environmental Legislations and management, BSc. Degree in Analytical Chemistry and a holder of Diploma in Analytical Chemistry.

Dr Jane Njoki Mburu is currently a Lecturer in Muranga University.
