SHORT BIOGRAPHY
Erick Cheruiyot Kirui is a graduate assistant in the Department of Mathematics and Actuarial Science at Murang’a University of Technology since November 2017. He studied his Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science (statistics option) at Murang’a University of technology and graduated in the year 2017 with First Class Honors. In 2019, he was appointed by the vice chancellor as the web champion in the School of Pure, Applied and Health Sciences where he ensures the school website is up to date. He has also collaborated closely with faculty members in providing an effective learning environment for students and has successfully performed his roles as a graduate assistant in the department which includes invigilation of examinations, administrative tasks, student motivation, and mentoring and has also been involved in overseeing students’ election. He was also part of the team that drafted the Murang’a University of Technology Alumni Association constitution and its launch.
In 2020, he was appointed by the Vice Chancellor as member of the internal committee for baseline survey on alcohol and drug abuse (ADA) to determine the prevalence of ADA and its effects on employees’ performance, to establish causes and effects of ADA among staff as well as providing effective strategy for addressing emerging issues and recommendations to mainstream ADA in the work place. He is currently doing Master of science degree in Statistics and is conducting research in infant mortality using logistic regression model.
