SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Sharon Kiprotich is a Lecturer in the Department of Physical and Biological at Murang’a University of Technology. She is currently serving as an Academic advisor in the department.

She matriculated her secondary education at Sacho High School, Kenya in 2005. She obtained her BEd Science degree at Kenyatta University, Kenya in 2011. She later graduated her BSc Hons (Physics) in 2015, MSc (Physics) degree with distinction in 2017 and graduated her PhD (Physics) on 7th October, 2020 all at University of the Free State (UFS), SA.

Her teaching career as a teacher started at Moyale, Kenya in 2012. From 2014 – 2019 she was appointed in the Physics Department, UFS as research assistant and a Physics tutor.

Her research is focused in Material science with special interests in condensed matter Physics, nanomaterials and nanotechnology. This is achieved through synthesis and characterization of tunable nanoparticles using facile synthetic routes. She has made numerous contributions in the field of material science through various scientific conference presentations, research and several publications in Scientific peer reviewed journals.
